Chancellor Drake Meets with UC Staff Diversity Council
Chancellor Michael Drake attended a meeting of the UC Staff Diversity Council at UC Irvine on Oct. 24. He discussed the importance of diversity in fields such as higher education and healthcare, and emphasized the need to promote equality on a local as well as global level.
Made up of staff members from across the University of California system, the council focuses on a broad range of staff diversity issues, including the recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce and the commitment of campus leadership to staff diversity. The council next meets at UCSD and UC Berkeley/San Francisco in 2008.
