Chancellor Drake Welcomes New Students to UC Irvine

Chancellor Michael Drake welcomed more than 4,000 new students to UC Irvine Sept. 24 at the annual New Student Convocation in Aldrich Park. Drake was joined by deans from all academic units and other university leaders, including Sue Bryant, vice chancellor for research; Tim Bradley, chair of the academic senate; and Mohamed Eldessouky, ASUCI president. UC Irvine is welcoming an incoming undergraduate class of about 6,500 for fall 2007, one of the largest in its history.
