Reaffirmation of non-discrimination and affirmative action policy

December 6, 2011

Dear UCI Community,

At UC Irvine, we are guided in all that we do by core values that include respect, empathy and commitment. In keeping with this, we provide all faculty, staff and students a level playing field, free of harassment, in order to advance their research, careers and studies.

Discrimination and harassment of employees and students is expressly prohibited by law and by regental and campus policy. The University of California Nondiscrimination & Affirmative Action Policies and Complaint Resolution Procedures are available online and through the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity. For information regarding UCI's resolution procedures as they relate to discrimination and harassment complaints, please contact the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity (OEOD) at 103 Multipurpose Science and Technology Building, 949-824-5594, or oeod@uci.edu.

Creating and maintaining a discrimination-free and harassment-free community requires ongoing dedication from all of us. Please join me in reaffirming this commitment.

Chancellor Michael Drake
