INITIATIVES
UC Irvine is joining with volunteers at our fellow campuses across the state to raise private funds to provide students with scholarships.
With the goal of sparking discoveries in medicine, the environment and sustainable energy, UC Irvine has launched a $1 billion fundraising effort. The effort aims to foster economic and cultural opportunities and produce a new generation of leaders who will drive growth and development in California.
For the 2009-10 academic year, Chancellor Michael Drake is scheduling 10-minute appointments with individual students to learn more about their interests and to exchange ideas every other month. These meetings will occur in October 2009, December 2009, February 2010, April 2010 and June 2010. Any registered student in good standing may participate.
To preserve and strengthen the contributions of UCI’s staff, the campus established the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Staff in 2002. CACSS is charged with advocating for staff, promoting career development opportunities, mitigating problems and creating a positive work environment.
