Chancellor Drake Presents Awards at Premier Campus Gala
On Oct. 3, Chancellor Michael Drake presented four individuals with UCI’s most prestigious award – the Medal – alongside co-presenter Jim Mazzo, chair of the UC Irvine Foundation Board of Trustees. Held at UCI’s Bren Events Center, the event highlighted the impact the Medal awardees have made by shaping the future of our campus and beyond. With a focus on the rich talent produced by the campus, the evening’s entertainment included performances by current Anteaters as well as alumni who have gone on to build careers on Broadway and in Hollywood.
This year’s event, co-chaired by foundation trustee Gary Singer ’74 and his wife, Melanie, raised $1.1 million towards student scholarships and fellowships.
