Feedback from August Town Hall Meetings

Dear Colleagues:

We had an excellent turnout at our last two town hall meetings – Aug. 6 on the campus and Aug. 11 at the medical center.

Throughout the last few months we have been gratified by the energy and commitment displayed by our campus community. These are challenging times indeed, but by remaining focused on fostering excellence in teaching and scholarship, improving lives through research and discovery, and engaging and enriching our community through service we will ensure our continued trajectory toward excellence.

For the latest information on the UC furlough/pay reduction plan, please visit www.uci.edu. We recently added information to clarify some of the questions raised about the campus closure proposal. The comment period for that proposal closes August 12th. You can send your final comments regarding the closure program or any other furlough related questions to budget@uci.edu.

Again, we thank you for your hard work, commitment and patience. Working collectively, we can address our budget challenges and continue to build on our success.
