Gift Names UC Irvine Douglas Hospital
May 6, 2009
Campus Community:
I am pleased to announce that our new hospital at UC Irvine Medical Center has been named UC Irvine Douglas Hospital after M.A. Douglas of Orange, Calif., in honor of his $21 million posthumous gift.
The gift completes our $50 million fundraising effort for the new hospital, and is a significant step forward in our $1 billion “Shaping the Future” campaign, which is currently approaching the halfway point of $500 million.
Our sincere gratitude to Michael Hayde, trustee of the Douglas estate and the donor’s partner and friend, for this invaluable contribution to elevating healthcare for Orange County residents and beyond.
Our news release on the gift can be viewed at: http://today.uci.edu/news/release_detail.asp?key=1895
