Chancellor Drake Welcomes New Law Students at Foundation Event
On April 2, Chancellor Michael Drake updated UC Irvine Foundation members on the new School of Law, which opens this fall with an inaugural class of 60 students. In welcoming newly accepted students attending the event at the Pacific Club, Drake said, “The quality of the young people in this room, who will be our first law school students, exceeds our wildest expectations. You will be an essential part of the fabric of this school and represent the future of our campus.”
The gathering featured a panel discussion with founding law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky, founding faculty member Rachel Moran and Assistant Dean of Development Charles Cannon. The chancellor thanked foundation members and the legal community for their service and financial support of the school.
