Chancellor Drake Helps Open UC Irvine Outreach Clinic

Chancellor Michael Drake and health sciences students – tomorrow’s doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals – opened the UC Irvine Outreach Clinic Feb. 25. The Saturday morning free clinic offers primary care, preventative medicine, laboratory testing, medication and healthcare referral services for people with very low incomes who do not qualify for government assistance programs. Students who staff the clinic receive thorough training in clinic management and serve under the direction of UCI faculty physicians.

The clinic is located at the Hurtt Family Health Clinic, which is part of the Orange County Rescue Mission’s Village of Hope at the former Marine Corps Air Station in Tustin.
