Chancellor Drake, Other Campus Leaders Celebrate Hospital Opening with Staff
Chancellor Michael Drake joined other campus leaders to thank all members of the UC Irvine community at the Jan. 29 celebration of the University Hospital’s opening on the UC Irvine Medical Center campus in Orange. Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs David Bailey and medical center CEO Maureen Zehntner also lauded the staff’s contributions to the design and construction of the new 482,428-square-foot building. The seven-story, $555.9-million hospital was completed on budget and four months ahead of schedule – a full two years faster than other California hospitals.
