Chancellor Drake Helps Break Ground on Santa Ana Zoo’s Anteater Habitat
Chancellor Michael Drake joined representatives of the UCI Alumni Association, elected officials and Santa Ana Zoo leaders Dec. 23 to celebrate the groundbreaking for construction of the zoo’s new anteater habitat. With the help of the UC Irvine community and others, $1 million was raised to construct the Tierra de las Pampas Exhibit. The facility will include a habitat for a pair of giant anteaters. Construction is expected to be completed in January 2010.
