Chancellor Drake Addresses Healthcare Conference for Chinese Americans
Chancellor Michael Drake spoke at the 8th annual Chao Family Healthcare Conference for Chinese Americans held Nov. 1 at the Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry. About 750 local residents participated in the daylong conference, which offered seminars covering topics specific to the health needs of the Asian community, as well as free health screenings.
The chancellor’s remarks focused on UCI’s Asian education and outreach program and the campus’s community-based participatory research. He also provided an update on the new University Hospital and Medical Education Building projects that will offer cutting-edge facilities for research, teaching and healthcare delivery.
An endowment gift from the Chao family launched the annual event, hosted by the Asian Outreach Program.
