Chancellor Drake announces $1 billion fundraising effort at 2008 Medal awards
At the 2008 Medal awards ceremony Oct. 4, Chancellor Michael Drake announced the “Shaping the Future” fundraising campaign. The effort, with a goal of $1 billion, will focus on increasing private support for five key areas:
- health
- the environment
- sustainable energy
- educating tomorrow’s leaders
- embracing global opportunities in culture and business.
“The challenges we face in the world today have not overwhelmed hope, and solutions can be found. That’s what great universities do,” said Drake.
With $405 million of its goal raised to date, the campaign will run through 2015.
