Chancellor Drake Attends Staff Service Awards Ceremony

Chancellor Michael Drake participated in the 2008 Staff Service Awards Ceremony June 18 in Aldrich Park. About 600 staff awardees and their friends and families attended the annual event, which honors staff members with five to 40 years of service at UCI or within the UC system. The awardees have contributed a total of 6,920 years of service at UCI, the longest being the 40-year career of Dave Tomcheck, associate executive vice chancellor for space management.

Chancellor Drake thanked long-term staff members for their service, and each was given a congratulatory card and commemorative service pin. The event was sponsored by the UCI Staff Assembly and Human Resources.
