Chancellor Drake Visits Windy City Alumni, Friends
Chancellor Michael Drake and his wife, Brenda, met with local UC Irvine alumni and friends May 21 in Chicago. The chancellor gave guests a snapshot of UCI today – with more than 27,000 students and still “Under Construction Indefinitely,” the campus has changed significantly since many of the alumni last visited. Drake articulated the university’s vision for next decade: to make an impact on global issues such as improving human health, protecting the environment, and preparing tomorrow’s educators and civic leaders.
Alumni shared campus memories with the chancellor, who invited them to continue their involvement with their alma mater through the UCI Alumni Association and local mentor programs.
The chancellor is planning more visits to cities across the country to meet with alumni and friends.
