Chancellor Drake Promotes Humanities at Foundation Board Meeting

Chancellor Michael Drake attended the University of California, Irvine Foundation’s board presentation April 24 to provide a campus update and show support for the School of Humanities. The foundation is a nonprofit organization composed of community and campus leaders who foster and manage private support for the campus’s priorities.

Dean Vicki Ruiz and other humanities faculty members discussed outreach programs, community engagement and the vital role humanities plays in higher education and the world at large. Attending the event were foundation trustees, government and community leaders, and guests of humanities, including alumni and donors.
