Chancellor Drake Welcomes Healthcare Providers to UC Irvine Conference

Chancellor Michael Drake welcomed more than 350 members of the healthcare community on Feb. 21 to the 17th annual Health Care Forecast Conference at the Beckman Center. The conference was hosted by The Paul Merage School of Business and provided a short-term forecast of the economic and political currents affecting healthcare.

Chancellor Drake discussed UC Irvine’s accomplishments in the field of medicine and the importance of responding to disparities in healthcare due to factors such as education, income and human rights.

“Healthcare is a reflection of our society’s health,” Drake said.

The conference broke attendance records and attracted representatives from a variety of organizations involved in healthcare policy and delivery, including hospitals, universities, businesses and government.
